Bullying affects thousands of students each day. Students experiencing bullying are at greater risk for poor school adjustment, sleep difficulties, anxiety, and depression. To help combat bullying and all of its negative effects, Children's Wisconsin is offering two new Act Now! bullying prevention campaigns, (in addition to the Act Now! Staff Training Stipend program recently launched), one for grades K-8 and one for grades 9-12.
Children's, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, is currently offering bullying prevention classroom campaign kits, free of charge, to the first 40 educators who sign up. This offering is designed to provide a school educator with the resources needed to plan and deliver a classroom or school-wide campaign, including a starter kit and Act Now! e-learning course access. Educators successfully completing the classroom campaign requirements will receive a second kit designed to help them continue this important work. Kits are available on a first come, first served basis. Learn more and sign up!
Implement a high school cyberbullying awarenss campaign, and receive one of eight $325 awards for your school! Children's is offering an opportunity for eight Wisconsin high schools to participate in a powerful and informative cyberbullying campaign this school year in conjunction with our online Cyberbullying mini-course for grades 9-12. Participating high schools will receive ideas and materials to help implement the campaign. Schools are required to have a designated staff member to serve as the "School Champion". Schools may determine what types of campaign they wish to run, along with who will organize and implement the campaign. It is suggested that an interested student group or organization run the campaign. Learn more and sign up!
